How it works:

What happens on the first session?

When you come for your first session with us here at shoshin karate club, we aim to make you feel as comfortable as possible, we will spend some time with you showing you how we start our sessions off before hand. Once this is explained we offer a one to one session for the very first time which is lead at your pace.

we will cover some basics ie:

How to stand.

How to move forward & Back.

How to turn.

How to perform basic blocks and punches.

What do I need?

On your first few sessions with us all you will need is sports clothing and some water.

If you decided you wish to join our club and take your study further then Great! - all you will need to get yourself going would be a ''dogi'' which is the uniform we wear - we don't supply these, as we feel you should have the choice on how much you wish to spend on your ''gi'' all we insist it is white, however we are happy to guide you though the process.

You would be required to become a member (for insurance etc) however this fee is a small fee - £18.00 per year this also allocates you a licence book and grading book.

How old do I need to be?

Here at shoshin karate club, we start member from 6 years old, just for safety - however we don't have any upper age limit to our members.

What will I get from karate?

We believe Karate is more that just the kicking and punching that it sometimes gets mistaken for - yes that is a large portion of the art, however equally we believe the study is just as much the inner study, we believe Karate will offer:

Health & Mental benefits

Body & Situational awareness

Flexibility & mobility

Self discipline

Respect for you & other around you

What are the fees?

Here at shoshin karate club we try to keep our fees to a minimum to make training accessible to everyone our fees are:

Annaul membership - £18.00

Training fees - £5.00 per person

Family training fees - we do offer discounts to families we start with £5.00 per person however each additional (immediate) family member is at an extra cost of £2.50 per person.

We do run courses/extended session from time to time (non compulsory) and these typically cost £12.50 - £18.00 per adult & £7.50 - £10.00 depending on the length of the course.
